A familiar face has been named the next deputy chief of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.
Insp. Mary Henderson was promoted to her new role as of Saturday, the force announced on Monday.
“This promotion reflects Deputy Chief Henderson’s unwavering commitment to public service, her exceptional leadership abilities, and her significant contributions to our community’s safety,” the force said in a social media post.
Henderson began her career with the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force in July 2000.
She worked front-line patrol and in the Criminal Investigation Division, and was promoted to inspector in April 2018.
“Deputy Chief Henderson has consistently demonstrated excellence in law enforcement and an earnest dedication to the principles of justice,” said the post.
Henderson is one of nine female officers within the force and the first to reach the rank of deputy chief.
Former deputy chief Jeff Giggey retired on Friday after nearly eight years in the role
