Parts of New Brunswick could be in for some significant rainfall on Saturday.
A special weather statement is out for southern and eastern regions, including:
- Acadian Peninsula
- Fundy National Park
- Grand Lake and Queens County
- Kent County
- Kouchibouguac National Park
- Miramichi and area
- Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
- Saint John and County
- Sussex – Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County
“An area of low pressure containing tropical moisture may bring significant rainfall to the province this weekend,” Environment Canada said in the statement.
Rainfall totals of 20 to 40 millimetres or more are possible, forecasters said in an updated statement on Friday afternoon.
“There remains some uncertainty as to where the heaviest rain will occur,” it said.
In addition to the rain, Environment Canada said gusty winds could lead to scattered utility outages.
