The New Brunswick Liberal Party officially kicked off its campaign for the 2024 provincial election on Sunday at an event held at Fredericton’s Boyce Farmers Market.
Liberal leader Susan Holt introduced the party’s 48 candidates in front of a crowd of over 500 people.
Holt, who is running for the riding of Fredericton South-Silverwood, outlined the key priorities of her campaign, focusing on improving healthcare, addressing affordability, and ensuring a government that works for all New Brunswickers.
“We’re here because New Brunswickers are ready for a change,” Holt told supporters. “Our province deserves better healthcare, affordable living, and a government that works for everyone.”
The event also saw the unveiling of the party’s campaign slogan, “Focused on You.” Holt explained that the slogan reflects the party’s commitment to addressing the issues most important to voters. The Liberals are the first party to complete their slate of candidates, nearly two weeks ahead of the election call.
Holt’s speech highlighted the party’s platform priorities, including expanding access to healthcare through community care clinics and introducing a universal school food program to ease financial pressures on families. These initiatives aim to tackle ongoing challenges in the province, such as healthcare access and rising living costs.
With the election set for October 21, voters should expect their information cards to arrive in the mail 14 days prior. The Liberals, along with other parties, will continue their outreach across the province as the election approaches.
