A 30-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Saint John Police Force in an ongoing assault investigation.
On Monday, Sept. 2, a 40-year-old man was reportedly assaulted in the 100 block of Waterloo Street.
Emergency crews arrived to find the man suffering from a head injury. He was taken to the hospital, where he spent eight days receiving treatment before being sent home.
Following an investigation by the Saint John Police Force, authorities identified a 30-year-old man as the suspect.
On Friday, officers found him in the vicinity of Exmouth Street and arrested him without incident.
The man now faces charges of aggravated assault. He was remanded into custody and had a bail hearing scheduled for Monday.
