Saint John police say one person has died and another has been taken to the hospital in critical condition after a two-vehicle crash.
First responders were called to the scene on Route 7 near Exit 90, located near the Crane Mountain Landfill, around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
A 55-year-old woman in one of the cars died at the scene from her injuries.
A 33-year-old man in the second car was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said there was no one else in either vehicle at the time of the crash.
The highway was closed for several hours but reopened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone that has video footage of the incident.
