On Wednesday, David Coon, the head of the Green Party of New Brunswick, presented the party’s election platform for the upcoming 2024 provincial election during a press conference held at their campaign headquarters in Fredericton.
Coon emphasized that the platform tackles the urgent challenges currently confronting the people of New Brunswick, including the healthcare crisis, housing shortages, rising living costs, and the climate emergency.
“It recognizes how all of these issues are interconnected and need to be addressed together. The Green platform will bring hope to New Brunswickers because it commits to action, to implement concrete practical solutions to the multiple challenges we face as a province, to actually fix the problems that bedevil us,” said Coon.
Green Party officials report that Blaine Higgs has amassed $2.7 billion in surpluses over the last four years, in light of this, the Green Party is prioritizing a significant investment in healthcare to enhance recruitment and retention efforts.
Their goal is to guarantee that every resident of New Brunswick has access to a family healthcare team within their community. Additionally, their initiatives to enhance affordability are specifically designed to assist those who are most in need. The party prioritizes the security and well-being of individuals, their communities, and the natural environment that sustains life.
“We have a plan, and it’s backed up by the generational investment we need to make to save our healthcare system,” said Coon.
