Parts of New Brunswick may have some shovelling to do by the weekend, according to Environment Canada.
A special weather statement has been issued for southeastern New Brunswick, including Greater Moncton.
Forecasters said a low pressure system is expected to travel up the eastern seaboard and track south of Nova Scotia.
This system could bring more than 15 centimetres of snow to southeastern New Brunswick from Friday night into Saturday.
Snowfall is also expected elsewhere in the province but totals will be less the further you are from the southeastern region.
Prince Edward Island and mainland Nova Scotia are also under special weather statements, with more than 25 centimetres possible in some areas.
