Get ready, gamers! Saint John will host its inaugural video game convention at the Kent Theatre.
Antler Entertainment is organizing the event and it will have a combination of celebrity appearances, unique merchandise, and interactive activities.
“We wanted to bring a piece of big-city entertainment to our little city,” said Salena Thiemann, Vice President of Antler Entertainment.
“With the growing popularity of video games, it was a no-brainer to go in this direction.”
One of the main highlights will be the celebrity guests, including Slink Johnson, the voice of Lamar Davis from Grand Theft Auto V.
Alongside him will be James C. Burns, known for his role as Frank Woods in the Call of Duty series, and Andrew Bowen, the voice of Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat.
Gamers will have the opportunity to get autographs, selfies, and meet-and-greets with these stars.
Thiemann says the event is looking to become an annual highlight for gaming enthusiasts in Saint John.
“Looking at my own kid, he loves video games, and it’s a way for him to connect with others,” Thiemann said.
She tells us Antler Entertainment aims to create a vibrant social hub for the local gaming community.
The video game convention is set to be held on June 14.
