The province of New Brunswick is now accepting nominations for its highest honour, the Order of New Brunswick.
This award recognizes individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the province’s economic, cultural, or social well-being.
Since its establishment in 2000, over 200 people have been recognized with this award, according to the government’s release.
Any Canadian citizen who is a current or former long-term resident of the province is eligible for nomination.
Lt.-Gov. Louise Imbeault emphasized the importance of acknowledging these contributions.
“New Brunswick is enriched by individuals who exemplify co-operation, inclusion, and sharing. Their efforts in uniting diverse cultural communities, promoting healthy environments, and striving for equity are invaluable,” Imbeault said.
Premier Susan Holt highlighted the importance of recognizing exceptional contributions in New Brunswick.
She encouraged residents to nominate those who have made a difference in the province for the Order of New Brunswick.
The deadline for nominations is April 1. New members will be officially honoured during a ceremony in the fall at Government House in Fredericton.
