A Canadian was surprised to go viral on the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show.’
Keltie Bain of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia posted a TikTok video of empty shelves in a liquor store after American products were removed.
Nova Scotia’s Premier Tim Houston announced the removal of U.S. alcohol as part of a counter to President Donald Trump’s 25 percent tariffs.
Bain who is a content creator says she didn’t expect to see her video end up on the popular U.S. late-night show.
“My mom messaged me the following day, and said ‘hey I just saw your clip on Jimmy Kimmel!’ I couldn’t believe it. It was really cool to wake up one morning and see your content on that type of platform,” said Bain.
She says there’s a strong divide right now, but there’s a lot of Americans supporting Canada.
“I have a ton of Americans in my DMs and comments who are very supportive of what we’re doing in Canada. Many are saying they’re going to boycott American made products.”
Bain has teamed up with a local business to sell merchandise with the slogan ‘Elbows Up.’
She says there have been orders from as far away as Australia.
