The YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick has launched its 2025 fundraising campaign, setting a goal of $1.5 million to support vital programs and services across the region.
With $450,000 already raised, the YMCA is calling on the community to help bridge the gap and ensure equitable access for families and individuals.
Chief Development Officer Jennifer Yeomans explained the campaign will help fund critical efforts, including the Strong Communities Campaign, which provides subsidies for families facing financial barriers.
“This fund ensures everyone can afford childcare, swimming lessons, and summer camps, giving them access to programs that support their health and well-being,” she said.
The campaign supports four key areas:
- Strong Communities Fund ($825,000): Financial assistance that families and individuals can access YMCA programs like childcare, swimming lessons, and summer camps.
- Healthy Living Initiative ($500,000): Expanding programs that support physical and mental well-being.
- Endowment Fund ($100,000): Sustaining the YMCA’s mission for future generations.
- Camp Glenburn Upgrades ($75,000): Enhancing outdoor learning and leadership opportunities as the camp prepares for its 100th anniversary in 2028.
The campaign also supports the launch of the Healthy Living Initiative, a new program aimed at proactive healthcare for chronic health issues and mobility challenges.
“This initiative complements healthcare efforts by providing resources to keep people active and improve their physical and mental wellness,” Yeomans said.
In 2024, the YMCA raised $2.3 million and impacted thousands of lives through services ranging from fitness and food security to grief support.
Programs such as the Early Childhood Hubs, Rainbows Program, and Home Delivery Program made over 89,000 meaningful connections last year, showing the depth of the YMCA’s community impact.
“The need in our community is real and growing,” Yeomans said.
“Every dollar raised is a lifeline—supporting programs that help people feel safe, connected, and empowered.”
The YMCA invites businesses, community partners, and individuals to contribute to this important campaign.
