Two New Brunswick MPs will be part of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet ministers and secretaries of state.
Beauséjour MP Dominic LeBlanc is president of the King’s Privy Council and the minister responsible for Canada-U.S. trade, intergovernmental affairs and One Canadian Economy.
LeBlanc, who has been the MP for the area since 2000, has held the intergovernmental affairs portfolio since August 2020.
Saint John-Kennebecasis MP Wayne Long has been named the secretary of state for the Canada Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions.
Long, who is serving his fourth term as MP, was not going to run in April’s federal election, but changed his mind once Carney became leader.
Moncton-Dieppe MP Ginette Petitpas Taylor lost her spot as treasury board president.
