Saint John police say they have identified the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a dog.
The incident happened at the intersection of Wyatt Crescent and Heather Way on the afternoon of May 12.
Police said a 69-year-old man was crossing the street with his dog when it was hit by a vehicle in a crosswalk.
The man, who is visually impaired, had a white cane and was wearing a traffic safety vest at the time of the incident.
In an update on Monday afternoon, police said the driver of the vehicle identified themself to officers on May 25.
They have been issued violations under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to remain at the scene of an accident and failing to yield to a pedestrian legally crossing the road.
