The City of Saint John and the union representing its outside workers have reached a tentative agreement.
The new deal was reached by both sides on May 26, the city announced in a news release on Tuesday.
Members of Local 18 have been without a contract since the beginning of the year. Negotiations began on Jan. 16.
“Representatives of the bargaining teams worked collaboratively to reach this tentative agreement, and details of the tentative agreement will be available once both sides have ratified,” said the release.
Councillors will be asked to approve the new agreement at an upcoming council meeting.
The Local 18 executive will also ask its membership for ratification at a separate meeting.
