A future enhanced multi-sport recreation centre at Mount Allison University has been named.
It’ll be known as the Scott McCain and Leslie McLean Centre for Health and Wellness.
This comes in recognition of a $5 million gift from the two alumni.
Features of the upgraded centre will include 26,000 square feet of playing space with high-performance sport flooring, a removable turf, and a walking track.
It’s also part of a campus revitalization that includes the renewal of the R-P Bell Library. Construction will be done from 2027 to 2030.
In the initial phase, the facility will serve as the Interim Library. Once construction is completed, the building will serve as a long-term sport and recreation facility for students, faculty, staff, and the wider community.
