Canadian Multiculturalism Day celebrations in Saint John will include something new this year.
The Saint John Newcomers Centre is organizing a parade uptown on Friday to mark the occasion.
Spokesperson Lorne Daltrop said it is a unique way to show how welcome and well-integrated newcomers are in the city.
“It really highlights the different cultures that are here and exactly what they do for the community,” Daltrop told our newsroom.
“They bring a lot of vibrancy and a different way of looking at life, and I think that is something that every community can take advantage of.”
The parade will leave King’s Square at 5:30 p.m. and make its way down King Street to the Market Square Atrium.
That is where you will find a wide range of cultural booths, performances and international flavours until 7:30 p.m.
