At an event on Wednesday, the Greater Saint John Community Foundation held its annual general meeting.
During the meeting, board members and staff released a 14-month report.
The report is from November 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021.
In that timeframe, the foundation was able to raise $1,202,397.
“Our team at the Saint John Foundation has been wonderful, they pivoted, they were accommodating, they went outside the box and did a lot of good things, and we still raised over $1.2 million, so that’s fantastic,” said Dr. Michael Simon, chair of the board of directors for the Community Foundation.
With the amount donated, the foundation was still able to grant over $2.7 million to local charities.
Dr. Simon added that the outlook for the future looks bright.
“Especially with the presence being elevated in the city, more cooperative ventures, yea, you’ll see a lot more benefits coming out of the board and the staff does.”
