A New Brunswick high school has finished in the top three at the Reach for the Top nationals.
Kennebecasis Valley High School fell to the University of Toronto Schools (UTS) in the semi-finals on Sunday.
UTS went on to win the championship after defeating The Renert School from Alberta.
KV High School had finished the round-robin portion with an undefeated 7-0 record, beating both the eventual national champ and the runner-up.
It was the first time since 2011 that the Quispamsis school had gone undefeated in the preliminary round.
On Sunday, the Blue Knights started the playoffs with a win over St. George’s School from Vancouver, allowing them to advance to the semis.
The third-place finish was KV High’s best result since 2016, according to head coach Jason Thorne.
KV High has now competed at the nationals a record 17 times and won three titles in 2010, 2011 and 2016.
The school was represented by Emily Ashe, Kyle DeLong, Adam Green, Jack McHarg, Fiyin Onososen, Kieran Winchester, and captain Eli Nason.
