The Atlantic Lottery Corporation had some challenges in the past year but still managed to bring in a profit of $422 million in the last fiscal year.
CEO Brent Scrimshaw says ALC exceeded its target by $6.5 million with three of four Atlantic provinces doing the same except for Newfoundland and Labrador.
Scrimshaw says slowing economies, increased competition and the accelerating shift to digital gaming were among the challenges this year.
Looking ahead, he adds ALC is investing in new technology and developing fresh and diverse products.
Despite the glowing financial news, ALC profits are still down by about $10 million over last year.
