The province has unveiled an $800,000 tourism campaign for 2017 which wants you to believe that getting away this summer is closer than you think.
The “Staycation” campaign aims to show everything the province has to offer from whale watching to kayaking to walking on the ocean floor including day trips and longer getaways.
Tourism minister John Ames says government is working with industry to make New Brunswick a top tourism destination.
More than 42,000 New Brunswickers work directly in the tourism sector.
Recent statistics show the province attracts about 3 million visitors each year – mostly out-of-town New Brunswickers and other Atlantic Canadians.
In 2015, the government says for every $1 spent on marketing the province, there was a return of $3.19.
