It appears as if the federal election campaign will officially begin on Sunday and if the Prime Minister calls it for October 19th, it will turn out to be the longest election campaign since 1927.
The Liberal candidate for Saint John-Rothesay, Wayne Long says the Conservatives want a longer campaign because they’re flush with cash but he thinks people won`t be all that interested this early and will view the 85 day campaign with cynicism and skepticism.
Meantime, Stats Canada is reporting the total value of Canada’s economy declined by .2 per cent in May, the fifth consecutive month there has been a decrease.
