A two week preliminary inquiry is set for next spring for a man accused of murdering a Moncton woman.
44-year old Claude Francis Blanchard appeared in court Tuesday to face a charge of first degree murder in the death of 35-year old Candice Kennedy-Faguy between September 22nd and 23rd.
Legal aid lawyers Sylvain Pelletier, and Bernadette Richard Crase asked Judge Paul Duffie for an inquiry to determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial – which he granted.
The inquiry is scheduled for May 6th to the 17th, 2019 while Blanchard has other charges set over to January 8th.
Those charges include committing an indignity to Kennedy-Faguy’s remains by putting her body in the trunk of a vehicle.
Kennedy-Faguy’s body was found September 26th, Blanchard was arrested the next day.
