The Gallant Liberals are hosting more town hall meetings with the Provincia budget about three weeks away.
Speaking In Saint John, Premier Brian Gallant says they plan to protect health care and education in the budget.
He was asked how this is possible when they are considering closing hospitals and making cuts to education.
He says they have made it very clear that of those choices, they will have to make two or three of the six large choices which include an increase to the HST.
He says the government wants to protect health care and eduation meaning they would be looking at the other choices in that report.
Gallant says corporate welfare or incentives for business were reduced in the budget and he says they have changed the model ensuring protection for taxpayers.
