After an incident Wednesday in Amherst, Nova Scotia, two men are facing numerous charges.
A dump truck failed to report to the border scales around 1 in the afternoon, and a vehicle compliance officer was sent to track the truck down.
The officer ordered the two men to return to the scales after finding them in the Amherst Centre Mall parking lot – but they instead drove a short distance before fleeing on foot.
About an hour later, police arrested two men in the back parking lot of Tim Horton’s.
Police discovered a disassembled shotgun and ammunition in a backpack, adding it could have easily been put back together.
As well, the dump truck was determined to have been stolen from Moncton.
A 36-year old man faces three charges, including possession of property obtained by crime, while a 20-year old man faces that charge on top of six firearms offences.
