Gas and diesel prices spiked overnight in New Brunswick as predicted by one analyst.
Regular self-serve is now selling for a maximum price of $1.45 per litre across the province.
That is an increase of 4.2 cents after the weekly setting by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board.
The price for diesel jumped by 6.5 cents to a new maximum of just over $1.52 per litre.
Most local stations are selling both fuels for a few cents less.
This time last year, regular self-serve was selling for a maximum of just under $1.01 per litre, while the most you would pay for diesel was 98.7 cents per litre.
Meanwhile, furnace oil prices have also jumped by 6.5 cents to a new maximum of just over $1.34 per litre.
Propane is now selling for a maximum of $1.275 per litre, an increase of around 2.5 cents.
