New Brunswick’s premier will bring his concerns about the federal carbon tax to Ottawa.
Blaine Higgs will testify virtually before a federal legislative committee late Thursday morning.
Higgs requested the opportunity to speak before the House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Finance earlier this week.
Instead, he was invited to share his concerns with the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates.
Higgs is one of several premiers who have asked the federal government to cancel the increase on April 1.
The premier has said the planned increase, which will add more than three cents to a litre of gasoline, will have a disastrous impact on New Brunswickers and Canadians.
